At the beginning of September, Van Cleef and Arpels initiated something unprecedented in the hushed and closed world of Parisian high jewellery: to present to the general public, free of charge, its latest collection dedicated to Noah’s Ark. A remarkable set of brooches desired by the president of the house: Mr. Nicolas Bos.
If, in July, the house honoured the emerald in a chapter of great technicality, it is with a set of colourful pieces, full of humour and tenderness that the company illuminated this autumn 2016.
Giraffes, lions, fennecs, butterflies, koalas, ladybirds… always presented in pairs, the animals in the procession are guided by three majestic fantasy creatures: a unicorn, a phoenix and above all Pegasus, which honour the tradition of the Serti Mystérieux™, this speciality of the house’s craftsmen. A very special mention must absolutely be made of the raw materials used for this opus: mother-of-pearl, coral, sugilite, chrysoprase, precious wood… so many materials that are sometimes little used in current creations.
You have until 26 September to discover this new collection at the Hôtel d’Évreux, 19 Place Vendôme, whose presentation is directed by the American Bob Wilson. Let yourself be guided by the sound of rain and thunder, face the Flood and discover joyful, playful and touching jewellery. I can only encourage you to push this door open to discover a remarkable know-how and also to bring your little ones who will come out of it amazed!
