Chanel sees life in pink

Jan 22, 2017

intro1

On Friday 20 January 2017, Paris is shivering and on the Place Vendôme, the house of Chanel opens the ball of a week of fashion and high jewellery with a refined, soft, powdery collection inspired by the one who before being Mademoiselle, was first Coco. For those who don’t follow me on Instagram, I invite you to discover the pieces that caught my attention!

The new release “Coco before Chanel” is inspired by the young Gabrielle when she starts sewing and creating hats. She is in love with Mr. Arthur Capel “Boy”, he gives her flowers, introduces her and makes her known, he also finances her. It was the time of the opening of the Deauville boutique. It was 1913 and Coco saw life in the pink…

For this collection, the house called on its in-house workshop but also on the know-how of different houses, such as Lesage, which made the embroidery for one of the masterpieces: an adorable gold fan with a very fine mother-of-pearl marquetry.

The house has chosen powdery tones, the pinks of sapphire and spinel and the incandescence of moonstone combine with the brilliance of numerous diamonds. The remarkable stones are there: morganite of 19.40 carats, D diamond of 10.02 carats, pink spinel of 10.07 carats or a remarkable pairing of padparadscha sapphires on the Suzanne set. Eleven sets that honour ribbon, lace and pearls. Eleven sets like eleven women who have marked Gabrielle’s universe and to whom the company pays a precious tribute.
