If there is one absolutely wonderful thing about Chanel, it is its ability to seduce me with each collection. Beyond that, it’s also a joy for me to discover two collections a year (plus occasional product launches) that are perfectly made, with a mastered aesthetic and high quality materials. So, at a time when Pantone has just defined the colour violet for the year, the house offers us a luminous, warm and sunny collection where yellows, oranges and orange-reds are present everywhere. In this month of January, it declines a little more the theme of the lion in this new opus that I had the pleasure to discover among the first ones on Friday, January 19th, as a preview to the fashion week that is coming.

With “L’esprit du lion”, the house lifts the veil on 53 pieces in white and yellow gold (11 sets), diamonds, imperial topazes, fancy sapphires, coloured diamonds, spessartite garnets and heliodores. This time, the studio of the house went for yellow diamonds such as a Fancy Intense yellow of 30.19 carats, brown diamonds slightly amber weighing 4.20, 2.17 or 1.92 carats, yellow beryls for several hundreds of carats with sizes voluntarily wanted specific and on works. Rarer and more daring choices of stones that can only delight lovers of gems and of the house. This collection is also intended as an extension of the one unveiled in 2013, “Under the sign of the lion”, which had already offered some surprising pieces such as these rings featuring lions sculpted in rock crystal or lapis lazuli.
This lion invites you to follow him on his lands bathed in light and crushed by heat. I can only encourage you to do so! It would be a shame to miss this journey…
