Always doing better than necessary
The end of year festive period is favourable to the release of beautiful books and the house of Piaget is no exception to this nice rule. Discover a beautiful book that will help you discover this discreet and luxurious Swiss house a little better.
Florence Müller, the author of the book (a graduate of the École du Louvre), has carried out valuable research on the history and heritage of the house. Through numerous archival documents, family photos and extracts from the factory’s registers, she invites us to enter the workshops of the craftsmen and women who make the magnificent watches and jewellery that have marked the life of Piaget for a century and a half.
These almost 330 richly illustrated pages allow us to discover 140 years of history, the heritage of the house is thus admirably illustrated by the photographs of Philippe Garcia and Steve Hiett.
I learnt a lot from this book, I also discovered a little more about this company and I must admit that the dual production of the company (watches and jewellery) complement each other perfectly. In short, I can only encourage you to get this book which will delight lovers of gemstones, complication mechanisms and jewellery heritage. A book that will of course make a very nice Christmas present under the tree…
