Lydia Courteille celebrates the Tassili in her new collection

A trip to Algeria – to the Tassili (the sandstone plateaus of the Sahara) – inspired Parisian designer Lydia Courteille’s new collection, which was unveiled at Paris Fashion Week.

The imposing Australian blue opals that make up this new chapter are reminiscent of the outfits of the Tuareg, the blue men of the desert. They are accompanied by rarer stones such as haüynes or andradite “topazolite” garnets, which reflect the light of this virgin territory where only a few red silhouettes painted on the walls disturb the tranquillity: welcome to Tassili N’Ajjer, the plateau of the rivers, which was once green and flowery…
