De la Sibérie où elle est née et de la région de Moscou où elle a grandit, Arina a gardé de nombreux souvenirs. Élevée par ses grands-parents durant son enfance, elle emménage à l’âge de 17 ans à Moscou. Elle qualifie elle-même cette époque « d’intense, car il y avait d’immenses changements dans le pays ». Pour celle qui a connu les bouleversements politiques de cette époque du début des années 90, « l’ouverture au capitalisme » est une chance et une possibilité de voyager comme de s’approprier ce monde qu’elle rêve de découvrir. Au moment de choisir une voie professionnelle, elle se décide pour l’Université des Finances de Moscou. L’école – fondée en 1919 – est la meilleure dans ce domaine et assure la plus qualitative des formations.

From Siberia where she was born and from the Moscow region where she grew up, Arina has kept many memories. Raised by her grandparents as a child, she moved to Moscow at the age of 17. She herself described this time as « intense, because there were immense changes in the country« . For those who have experienced the political upheavals of the early 90s, « openness to capitalism » is a chance and an opportunity to travel as to appropriate this world she dreams of discovering. When choosing a career path, she decides for the Moscow University of Finance. The school – founded in 1919 – is the best in this field and provides the most qualitative training.

Avec l’ouverture de la Russie, le pays devient un terrain de jeux pour les entreprises et les investisseurs du monde entier : « j’étais certaine de pouvoir trouver un bon travail en sortant de cette école et ainsi j’ai pu travailler avec les premières grandes compagnies qui s’installaient en Russie ». C’est comme cela qu’elle commence sa carrière professionnelle dans le Groupe Accor et qu’elle participe à l’implantation du premier Novotel de Moscou. Avec une force supplémentaire, Arina parle un anglais parfait qu’elle a appris à l’université, une compétence alors rare dans le pays qui décidera son employeur à l’embaucher : « Durant sept jours, je me suis rendue chez eux pour rencontrer quelqu’un et on me disait toujours non. Finalement, au bout d’une semaine, ils ont accepté de me recevoir et j’ai décroché ce premier travail. J’étais déjà extrêmement déterminée ! ».

With the opening of Russia, the country becomes a playground for worldwide companies and investors : « I was sure I could find a good job leaving this school and so I could work with first big companies that settled in Russia« . That’s how she begins her professional career in the Accor Group and participates in setting up the first Novotel in Moscow. With extra strength, Arina speaks perfect English that she learned at university, a skill so rare in the country that will decide her employer to hire her : « For seven days, I went to meet someone and they always told me no. Finally, after a week, they agreed to receive me and I got this first job. I was already extremely determined ! « .

A la question de savoir si cette confiance en soi a toujours était présente, Arina répond par l’affirmative, se remémorant une enfance où elle a reçu beaucoup d’amour et de considération de sa maman et de ses grands-parents. Mais elle parle également de sa mère comme d’un modèle extraordinaire car « elle a battit la vie qu’elle voulait », lui inculquant la « valeur du travail et l’importance des convictions ». Elle va alors se créer la vie qu’elle souhaite. Créative mais également avec un esprit scientifique, foncièrement citadine et amoureuse de l’énergie des grandes villes, elle choisit la finance car elle lui permet de comprendre le monde et son fonctionnement. Elle explique que dans ce domaine « tout est une question d’équilibre, presque de subtilité ». Et c’est exactement ce qui va guider sa vie et ses choix, y compris professionnels.

But she also speaks of her mother as an extraordinary model because « she beat the life she wanted« , inculcating the « value of work and the importance of beliefs« . She will then create the life she wants. Creative but also with a scientific spirit, basically urban and in love with the energy of big cities, she chooses finance because it allows her to understand the world and how it works. She explains that in this area « everything is a question of balance, almost of subtlety« . And that’s exactly what will guide her life and her choices, including professionals.

A la fin de sa mission pour le groupe Accor, elle a la possibilité de rejoindre l’Université de Lyon pour y étudier le français. Durant un an, elle se passionne pour la culture française et apprend à aimer notre pays dont les liens avec la Russie ne sont plus à démontrer. A son retour à Moscou, elle intègre l’un des plus importants groupes gaziers du pays en tant que directrice financière. Elle va alors rencontrer celui qui deviendra son mari. Très rapidement, le retour vers la France se pose et son employeur de l’époque va alors lui permettre de venir s’installer dans l’Hexagone dont elle ne repartira plus. Elle a alors une trentaine d’année et la France lui tend les bras. Son background et sa connaissance intime de la culture russe lui ouvrent toutes les portes. Elle voyage énormément et évolue toujours plus au sein du groupe gazier qui l’emploie. Mais après des années enthousiasmantes, elle décide de mettre ses compétences dans une aventure entrepreneuriale. Et elle initie le projet de création d’une galerie dédiée aux bijoux anciens et vintages qu’elle collectionnent depuis son premier poste en Russie.

She is then thirty years old and France offers its arms. Her background and her intimate knowledge of Russian culture open her all doors. She travels extensively and evolves more and more within the gas group that employs her. But after years of enthusiasm, she decides to put her skills in an entrepreneurial adventure. And she initiates the project of creating a gallery dedicated to the old and vintage jewels that she collects since her first post in Russia.

Si les bijoux sont présents dans l’univers d’Arina depuis son enfance, c’est grâce à un souvenir bien précis et une habitude prise avec sa maman lorsque chaque fin de semaine, elle venait la voir chez chez ses grands-parents : « Chaque vendredi, à partir de mes 7/8 ans, j’attendais ma maman à l’arrêt de but. Et ce avec une immense impatience car j’avais toujours hâte de la retrouver. Très rapidement, nous avons pris l’habitude d’aller dans des fêtes foraines dont la plupart des forains étaient tchécoslovaques. Je jouais souvent à une jeu où il fallait lancer une balle pour gagner quelque chose et on ne pouvait jamais perdre. Et le cadeau était à chaque fois une petite bague avec des strass colorés. C’était un moment extrêmement précieux pour moi. J’ai eu jusqu’à une centaine de ces petits bijoux. J’en perdais puis j’en gagnais d’autres. Je les portais. Elles ont accompagnés toute mon enfance ». Et c’est comme cela qu’elle commence à les aimer puis qu’ils vont faire, petit à petit, intimement parti de sa vie.

If jewelry is present in the world of Arina since childhood, it is thanks to a specific memory and a habit taken with her mother when every weekend, she came to see her at her grandparents’ home :  » Every Friday, from the age of 7/8, I was waiting for my mom to bus stop. And with immense impatience because I was always eager to find it. Very quickly, we used to go to carnivals, most of which were Czechoslovak fairgrounds. I often played a game where you had to throw a ball to win something and you could never lose. And the gift was each time a little ring with colored rhinestones. It was an extremely precious moment for me. I had up to a hundred of these little jewels. I lost then I won others. I wore them. They accompanied my whole childhood « . And that’s how she begins to love them and then they will, little by little, intimately part of her life.

A 16 ans, sa mère lui offre une première bague précieuse pour laquelle elle a économisé pour la réalisation de ce cadeau. « J’ai compris ainsi » explique Arina « la valeur d’un bijou de ce type et l’importance que cela revetait pour ma maman. Aussi, mon premier cadeau, avec mon premier salaire, a été une bague en or avec de petits diamants. Je la transmettrai à ma fille pour ses seize ans. Comme une passation ». C’est ce dernier mot qui traduit parfaitement le point de départ de son aventure entrepreneuriale. « Le bijou incarne quelque chose de profondément émotionnel et j’aime l’idée qu’il reste et qu’il passe avec le temps à un autre propriétaire. C’est l’idée de la transmission et c’est quelque chose de beau ».
